Fantastic debut murder mystery. My cousin put me on to this author and I was not disappointed. The story catches your attention from the start and does not let you go. I read the book from cover to cover in one sitting and was astounded at the really clever and unexpected twist at the end. Skillfully written. This is the first of a trilogy entitled The Lamb’s Bay Mysteries and I’m itching to read about Private Investigator Hilaria (aka Hilly) Barton-Cheswick’s next case. This author is certainly one to watch.

Intriguing. Within the first few lines the author takes you straight to the murder scene. From then on the story moves quickly and really kept my attention throughout the whole book. The characters are interesting and their lives centre around the past and present. The end left me with thoughts and questions, Is there more? I hope so. I very much recommend this as a very enjoyable and intriguing read.

Cozy Mystery with delightful descriptions. Excellent mystery with more than a touch of humor! Hilly is a character with a true voice, totally relatable. The Lamb’s Bay scenic descriptions are almost poetry, and the tale draws you in.

Character driven cozy mystery.  I enjoyed the ride through Lamb’s Bay with main character Hilly leading the way in first person, introducing the reader to a variety of townspeople as she investigates the disappearance of an old friend’s young daughter. Looking forward to reading more about these folks and the messes they get themselves into.

A real page turner! The plot had me on the edge of my seat right from the start! The main character Hilly is funny, brave and smart. Getting to know the rest of Lamb’s Bay was like sitting down with old friends. A superb read!
